SIRIUSWARE, INC. HONORED AMONG "BEST PLACES TO WORK"
Employees Vote Siriusware a Top 10 Employer via New Mexico Business Weekly Award
Albuquerque, NM,—Siriusware, Inc., a New Mexico-based software company specializing in ticketing, point-of-sale, and guest management solutions, was recognized by its employees as one of the top 10 small business workplaces at an awards ceremony hosted by The New Mexico Business Weekly in early December. Citing the company's progressive workplace policies and robust benefits package, Siriusware employees nominated the company via an anonymous workplace satisfaction survey administered by Quantum Workplace.
"Siriusware has consistently surprised me in its desire to provide the best benefits and working environment for staff," said Michael Bearden, who has worked for Siriusware for more than 12 years. "From detailed communications about strategic plans to our benefits package and employee ownership, managers work hard to make our lives as easy as possible within the framework of our mission. I've been working for various companies since 1970, and Siriusware is without doubt the most progressive in this regard of any, including one that I ran myself."
Siriusware, founded in 1989 and based in Taos, New Mexico, has incorporated telecommuting and flexible hours into its business model from its inception, seeking excellent employees that are the right fit for the company culture, regardless of where they live. The company also pays 100% of employee health and vision insurance premiums and 75% of dependent premiums, and offers an employee stock ownership plan, a $500 annual "healthy activity reimbursement," and an employer-sponsored 401K plan. Employees start with 4 weeks of vacation annually in addition to paid holidays, and accrue additional weeks off in accordance with their tenure.
"Our employees are our capital in this business," said Mark Danemann, Siriusware President. "It just makes sense for us to treat them well and give them an opportunity to have true ownership in the company." Danemann said that in spite of the recession, Siriusware hired 13 new top-notch employees in 2010. Siriusware employs staff in finance, sales, tech support, and development, with 18 living and working in New Mexico and 30 located in 16 other states.
