
What to see in Portland
Be prepared to explore a great city!
There are a phenomenal amount of things to do. Portland offers many great places to explore. When making your travel plans, you may want to consider taking some time before or after the seminar to enjoy all that Portland has to offer.
Besides excellence in restaurants, breweries, and wine tasting rooms, Portland is home to numerous museums, theaters, festivals, events and tours. And don’t forget there is no sales tax, so you can shop until you drop!

Gardens
Portland is proud of the many beautiful gardens within the city including the Classical Chinese Garden, Oregon Garden, Japanese Garden, and International Rose Test Garden.
Day Trips
The Oregon Coast:
Famous Cannon Beach is a short jaunt from downtown. Here, restored Victorian-era homes dot the hillsides while fresh seafood markets, restaurants and shops pepper the town.

Wine Country:
If the coast doesn’t interest you, some of the best Pinot Noirs come from the Willamette Valley’s wine country. Oregon’s wine country is conveniently located near Portland and can also be a rewarding day out.

Wilderness:
The Mt Hood wilderness area is full of nice hikes, picnic spots, waterfalls and lakes to relax and unwind by. There is also the Historic Timberline Lodge, located a few miles from Government Camp, OR.
